So, I met Rachel Roy Last Night

Yeah- THE Rachel Roy, internationally known fashion designer. Ms Roy made an appearance at Macy’s Union Square for “Dance Into Spring,” a fashionable fête celebrating Rachel’s spring collection. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to take a look at the Rachel Rachel Roy Spring 2011 look book feature on her website. Her clothes are modeled by dancers in motion–Dance Into Spring– get the connection?– which makes for an aesthetically stunning effect.

Interview: Sushanta Bhandarkar and Naz Saeed of Zansus Purses

We had the chance to speak with Sushanta Bhandarkar and Naz Saeed, the fashionable power duo behind Zansus Purses. These ladies have created a line of beautiful upcycled hand and shoulder bags, clutches and totes, made from discarded fabrics. This pair are not only creating beautiful work, but they’re also minimizing material waste by repurposing goods destined for the landfill. They hope that their creations will help consumers become more aware of the impact their purchasing decisions have on the environment.

Global Green’s Gorgeous and Green Gala


Mad Men’s Alison Brie hosts the Gorgeous and Green Gala on October 23rd. This year’s event, which will feature celebrities, a runway exhibition and a living plant wall, benefits Global Green’s mission to fight global climate change through green affordable housing, greener schools, and green policy efforts.
